MY STORY SO FAR

Born in the creative suburbs of Lagos, Nigeria, Michael Ayodele Dada better known as Mic Dada is a musician, record producer and singer.

From a very early age, family and friends knew that he was gifted and talented.  He was raised under a Christian upbringing and it was this discipline that would establish his life-long passion of service to the Lord.

In 1996 Michael migrated to the USA and currently resides in New York City. As destiny would have it, his life has followed a pathway paved with strong determination to live through his purpose. Mic knows the purpose God has for his life and wasted no time in developing his talent.

He plays a variety of instruments including vocals, keyboards, drums, drum machine, music sequencer, sax, and trumpet while maintaining his career as music producer, singer, musician, and youth director for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

Popular associated acts include: 2Face, Sound Sultan, Cristiles, Chelle, MicTunes, Jodi, Ash Hamman and W4 all on Michael Dada’s own label- MicTunes.

In the year 2000, Michael earned his first full production credit, producing his uncle's Christian music album, 'Comforter Kids' and in 2002 produced his own Church Christian music album with his father as the executive producer.

In 2003, Mic formed a divine partnership with Tunde (stage name Tunes), leading to the formation of their group 'MicTunes.'

In 2005, MicTunes released their first trend-setting Gospel music instrumental album 'Change.' This album brought them recognition within the US and other countries including Africa.  The intensity of the energy generated during their live performances of hits such as 'Most High', and 'Praise Jam' made Mic Tunes a force to be reckoned with among other gospel artist.

In 2006 Mic Tunes toured Nigeria with guest appearances and performed at national conventions and various churches including RCCG camp on their special New Year’s Day event with over one million attendees. This later developed into a strong platform which promoted their new album. Other performances took place at House On The Rock and King’s Court.  This unique profile-building brought attention and respect to MicTunes, yet they remain humble and persistent in lifting up the name of God through their ministry.

Upon their return to America, MicTunes collaborated with 2Face and wasted no time putting together a new album which was inspired by their journey thus far.

MicTunes' 2006  produced a single, 'No Shaking', off the 'Grass to Grace' album subsequently earned them the NEA International Producer Award in 2007.

While recording with 2Face Idibia  at Lupe Fiasco studio in Chicago, they met with Oprah Winfrey’s music director who was fascinated with MicTunes' production.  Later that year, they were commissioned to submit 100 songs to the Oprah Winfrey Production, some of which were licensed for the Oprah Winfery show and other Oprah Winfrey-affiliated TV productions.

MicTunes received the NEA International Producer of the year consecutively. This was followed by the ever-inspiring collaboration on 2Face's 2008 '2Faced: The Unstoppable' album. With the memorable hit, 'Can’t Do Without You' ft. Mellisa Briggs.

In keeping with their mission, MicTunes production launched their label with their first stable-artist Michelle, also known as 'Chelle' and produced singles, such as 'Opon ti Sun' and 'Nogere' released in 2011.

Through hard work and determination the gifted and talented Mic Dada is today a well-respected and prominent musician. He continues to work with established as well as up-and coming artists, and is extremely versatile in creating and building melodies with uniqueness and inspiration.  He covers a wide range of genres, but his underlining passion is Gospel Music.

Through divine order Mic Dada’s first solo album titled “OSE” which means “Thank You,” is definitely in order as he has so much to give God thanks for. Anticipated release is set for April 16, 2016. Truly, Michael Dada is thankful to God for His mercy and continued Blessings.
